Dr. Michael Bowman has been named a Fellow of the International College of Dentists. He practices in Loudon.

Jerry Creel has been promoted to vice president of human resources and talent management at Clayton Homes. He previously was vice president of human resources and training for the company's retail division. Carl Hill has been promoted to director of marketing and consumer insights. He previously was a consumer insight analyst. Jim Stariha has been promoted to vice president and controller for Clayton Homes Manufacturing. He previously was chief financial officer and treasurer of Southern Energy Homes, a Clayton subsidiary.

John Holmes III has been elected to the board of trustees of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors. He is an agent with New York Life Insurance Co. in Knoxville.

Stephen Ogle has received his Certificate of Public Administration from the University of Tennessee County Technical Assistance Service. He also has been appointed to the house of delegates of the Tennessee Bar Association. He is clerk and master for Blount County.

Dr. Melissa Phillips has joined University Surgeons Associates and the University of Tennessee Graduate School of Medicine.

TEC Industrial has achieved 1 million continuous work hours without an OSHA recordable or lost time incident in its first year of operation. Tennessee Electric, its parent company, has more than 8 million hours without a lost time incident.

Jerry Truitt has joined Ensafe as program manager of the Tennessee Department of Transportation environment services contract. He previously was senior compliance specialist and environmental compliance officer for SAIC in Oak Ridge.

The Areawide Development Corp. has elected the following board officers: president, David Verble, president of Citizens National Bank; vice president, Teri Brahams, executive director of Pellissippi State Community College's business and community services division; treasurer, Jim McBrearty of McBrearty Capital Management; and secretary, Letitia Campbell, president of Small Business Resources. Other board members elected are Chuck Alexander, executive vice president, Hickory Construction, Alcoa; Kent Bewley, President and CEO of Bewley Properties Inc., Greenville; Greg Davis, chief lending officer at Smart Bank, Pigeon Forge; Steve Jones, semiretired from Home Federal Bank, Knoxville; Donald Hurst, President, Cocke County Partnership, Newport; and Harvey Mitchell of State of Franklin Savings Bank, Greeneville.
